How to help avoid Dryer fires.

Dryer fires are a real danger, but there are ways to help lessen the risk of a dryer fire.
  • Check to be sure your vent behind the dryer is not smashed
  • Check your venting for lint build up and have it cleaned if it's dirty
  • Have your venting cleaned and inspected regularly
  • Keep the dryer lint filter cleaned and scrub it with a brush and water periodically
  • Check outside where your dryer vent terminates to be sure it is unobstructed and that the flap opens and works properly
  • Have your dryer professionally serviced and cleaned to avoid the risk of a lint fire in the dryer
