Refrigerator Door Gasket Repair

If your gasket is sticking it can cause the door to not close properly. Usually it will stick on the hinge side of the door. To fix this first clean it with a mild soap and water. Then get some Vaseline and lightly apply some to the gasket on the side that is sticking. Work the door by opening and closing it several times. Then reapply another light coat to the gasket. Again I say light coat, you don’t need to see gobs of it for it to work. Most of the time you will find that the Vaseline will lubricate the gasket enough to help stop it from sticking, allowing the door to close all the way.
